Soprano
Elena Daniela Mazilu was born in Bucharest and studied voice at the local conservatory, later she participated in master classes given by Mariana Nicolescu and Maria Slatinaru.
At the early age of 17 Ms Mazilu won 1st prize in the “National Olympics of Music” in Resita. Other awards followed, including a special prize for interpretation in the National “Eugenia Moldeveanu” competition as well as 3rd prize and audience award in the “Neustädter Meistersinger-Kurs” (former Erika-Köth-Competition).
The young soprano has performed in various concerts in Romania and abroad, some of which were broadcast by national radio stations. In Germany, she enjoyed great success in a series of Italian opera concerts taking place at famous concert halls like the Alte Oper Frankfurt and the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden. Ms Mazilu was also invited to sing a New Year´s concert at the Kurhaus Wiesbaden.
In 2005 Ms Mazilu performed in Mahler's 4TH SYMPHONY with the National Symphony Orchestra Kiev on a tour through Spain and Germany. She has also worked with other well-known orchestras like the Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz, the Deutsche Kammerorchester and the Orchestra Filarmonica di Torino. In 2007 and 2008, she appeared in concerts in Montserrat/Spain and the Alte Oper Frankfurt. |
